I have been backing up Enterprise Vault using Veeam Backup and Replication for years. Recently, my pre and post scripts to set and clear the backup mode stopped working. Access is denied (Event ID 7046) events are being written to the event log. Any idea why this may be occurring?

Is that backup service running under a service account? Did the account change?
Are you running the scripts using a scheduled task? Did the account under which the tasks run change?
You need to verify which account is used, and make sure that is in the appropriate EV Role.
