Hi there,
What should I check please when the automatic nightly archiving stops "all of a sudden" for one user?
I've already checked that the user has sufficient free mailbox space, is mentioned in the provisioning/policy logs and can manually archive messages. Other mailboxes on the same Exchange server are being archived at night.
Thanks,
- Alan.

The archive state also shows in the report. :)

First thing would be to do a Run Now in report mode against that mailbox to see if EV thinks there are eligible items.

Check that the user hasn't "suspended" archiving. You can see this in the Directory database.

Thanks to all. Instead of running now in report mode, can I just look at the log from last night's scheduled archive run?

The Exchange mailbox archiving task doesn't generate a report from a scheduled run unfortunately. The only way to get a report is do a run-now in report-mode.

Problem appears to have disappeared overnight. The mailbox was originally on an Exchange server where archiving had stopped (see my other recent post). Even though I moved the mailbox to another server, it still wouldn't archive. However, last night the problem server started archiving again and - as a side-effect - this mailbox was archived also.
I noticed that the mailbox provisioning task managed to run successfully on the problem server so I think it hadn't "noticed" that his mailbox had been moved.
Thanks to everyone. Much appreciated.

Glad it's sorted for you.
