authentication problem with outlook & EV 8

Good morning,

I just did my first installation of Enterprise Vault following the "Virtual Demo Environment Setup" Guide from PartnerNet.

Mostly everything is working - but - when I click on an archived eMail or on the EV toolbar in Outlook 2007 I get the login box promted. IT does not matter how many times I enter my credentials - it doesn't work. Also all pages under the virtual /EnterpriseVault Directory on the EV-Server (archive explorer, search) getting me to authentication errors.

For example: http://evserver1.shd-demo01.int/EnterpriseVault/ArchiveExplorerUI.asp?server=RS-DEMO-EX0701&mbx=SMTP...

I get: HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. Internet Information Services (IIS)

I didn't changed anything after EV installation on IIS.

I've attached the client trace. Hopefully somebody could help!

Thanks in advance!

Robert

Michel,

thanks for getting back to my problem!

From my point of view the local intranet settings are ok - short names, FQDN of the aliases and the server name are entered within the local intranet zone.

I've done the following on the EV Server with IE:

1st try: http://192.168.96.75/EnterpriseVault/ > I get the login box > I enter my credentials > I get the Website

2nd try: http://evserver1/EnterpriseVault/ > I get the login > I enter my credentials > I get the login box >3 x > HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

3rd try: When I disable Windows Integrated Authentication I get the login box once and everything is working I get the Website (trust host for delegation is enabled)

4th try: When I only enable Windows Integrated Authentication - smae problem as in 2nd try

It looks like something with Windows Integrated Authentication is going wrong.

Robert

PS: Domain Environment is Windows 2008 R2, EV is Windows 2003 R2 and Client Windows XP

OK, this sounds very much like this problem:

Could you try this?

If this does not work, you may want to troubleshoot further using:

Cheers
