Hello
My case relates to Journaling option, the email searches via EV search explorer run well, the emails can be viewed too, except the restoration does not function and shows faild status , find below the events,
I want to add that the only action undertaken is to change the password Vaultadmin, which required the change of the login in all EV and SQL services.

It sounds like you did not follow the change password process described here:

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/283722.htm

If you did not do this then try it again.

Sofiane_bekhedd

thnx, but I did it as discribed.

I've already checked this but no way

hELLOOOO - nobody see my reply. :)
The hyperlink to the events database tells you the reason for the failure..

It's a known issue, in that to restore you need a retrieval task and for a retrieval task you need an archive task. Therefore create an archive task for the exchange server and then it will be fine

Alan_M
Level 6
Sofiane I think you need to create an archive task for the Exchange server as it is a known issue which is described if you follow the link in your original post.

Dodo, just messing with you:-)

Hello all, thank you again
I have already created an Archive tasks, but as I dont have any archive licence about (have only journaling) it fails; also I add that in my Lab infrastructure it runs well using the same licence!!

Alan_M

Known issue, no licensing to solve the problem sounds like a hotfix is required. You need to open a ticket with Support to get this process moving although they may tell you to move to v7. I'd also suggest that contact your Symantec account team to see if they can get you a temporary license so that you can overcome this problem until a fix is issued.

Hello again
I tried a temporary licence, so the archived task can run, here below the warnings I get:

The problem was fixed after following these steps:

1. check that you have the necessary permissions over the archive you are trying to restore items from and also over the PSt location folder;

2. try to enter the PST location folder using an UNC path instead of the physical path.

thank you all for you help
