Run a command tcpdump on appliance about 20 seconds

842 packets captured

129197 packets received by filter

115211 packets dropped by kernel

 

very, very packets droppeds

any idea?

What was the exact tcpdump comand you ran. I don't think tcpdump is giving you useable information. If your looking for real numbers, try ethtool -S <eth#> and netstat -s, as this will give more acurate results. 

Also why are you running the command? are you having network or performance issues? We need more information please.

Hello Terry, 

We use tcpdump -i eth4 src host 10.10.1.102 command for about 40 seconds. 
We will tests with the parameters passed by you. 

Yes we have a network problem, where we have a structure in which the customer, backup Jobs no more than 10Mb transfer rate.

Any idea of testing we can do?

That sounds very much like a switch issue - try new cables and different port in the switch - also check the mode of the port being used on the switch to ensure it is using fixed speed and full duplex.
