NetBackup Puredisk Export

I have setup Puredisk POC, Everything works fine.

It is PD 6.2  with NetBackup Enterprise 6.0 MP5.

I have installed the netbackup client 6.0 and MP5 to the PDOS, nbu was enabled to export.

NBU 6 MP5 has a policy type "PureDisk-Export", So I didn't use Datastore policy  nor license.

But I keep having a error to export to NetBackup.

Something like " Failed to start XBSA transaction "

Any idea or comments would be thankful.

Cheers,

You still have to configure a datastore policy to be used by the puredisk export workflow. Therefore you still need a datastore license for netbackup. Puredisk-export policy is used to restore the exported puredisk data.

I am having the same problem, Everything is set up as per the admin guide, I have also applied the PDISK License key to the NBU Master to ensure that DATASTORE is licensed correctly, The complete error message i am getting is.

Error: 3 : Failed to start an XBSA transaction
Error: 4 : Failed in NetBackup VxBSA initialization

You must enter name the policy create in NetBackup Server, in the tab parameters in policy NBU Export PureDisk. The name must identicals.

Please test and report feedback.

PS: The PureDisk must lincesed for use with NetBackup and NetBackup lincesed for PureDisk.

All regards,

Check out the section starting on P 373 of the Puredisk Admin Guide (6.2)

Pay special attention to the part on p 376, step 3 which describes in detail how to create the policy in Netbackup.  Following these instructions to the letter worked for me.

Hi all,

This is now resolved, For information the problem was down to the following.

  1. Puredisk License was registered on NBU Master, but NBU Master license was not registered on PD Node
  2. There was no reverse DNS Entry for the PDNODE, Once this was added the problem was resolved
Many thanks for the feedback/comments.

Hi lee_foster, I have the exactly same problem, do you mean the NBU master license need to register on the PD node? thanks very much
