I've been researching this issue on and off since I started using NetBackup. As an admin of TSM I wrote lots of PERL scripts containing SQL to retrieve information from the TSM database. It was very flexible giving me the ability to customize reports and send/store historical data.
With the NetBackup DB being Sybase I thought it would easily be accessible (for inquiry only) but such is not the case. Has anyone been able to obtain DB information to do this and is it worth it?
