Adding AIX client

please let me know what should i keep in mind while adding a AIX cleint for the backups client version is 5.3
Do i need to use standard as the poilicy type or the oracle ?

what were you planning to backup file sytem/database, you need select standard for file system level backup.

There are several different ways to backup a client that contains an oracle database. I suggest you talk with the oracle database administrators to see how they want to do the database backups.

Meanwhile you are still going to want to backup the client's operating system with a standard policy. I suggest you use an exclude_list to avoid backing up the live oracle database as a standard backup of *.dbf files will be of NO value. If you want to backup the *.dbf with a standard backup then the db must be shutdown for a cold backup.
