Application State Capture Fails Status 47

Ravi_Bhandari

I have Exchange 2013 CU7 running on Windows 2012 R2 with Netbackup 7.5.0.7 client. The VM Host backup server and Master server is 7.5.0.7 running on Win 2008 R2.

I am employing VMWare backups for Exchange and have installed the Symantic VSS component.

I've noticed that the Application State Capture job is failing with host unreachable.

How can I diagnose / resolve the problem as I fear that I am unable to restore Exchange databases from my backups.

Thank you in advance for any assistance and comments.

I did come across the technote and tried entering the media/master servers in the host properties.

The job is for a VMWare policy with Exchange, such that the transaction logs get truncated.

I notice that the Application State Capture is infact working now for Exchange and it was a SQL Server VM host that was failing.

I'm pretty sure you will need to upgrade to 7.6.0.3 (or higher)

NetBackup 7.0 - 7.6.x Database Agent Compatibility List

Currently there is no granularity support for Exchange 2013 at 7.5.0.7.

We do support non-granular support for Exchange 2013 at 7.5.0.7 - but you will need to install the NBU agent on the guest host directly and use the Netbackup Exchange option (not VMware)
