Automatic detection of client missing?!?

Hi all,

When adding a client there used to be an option 'Automatically detect client type'

Unfortunately, this option seems to be missing from Netbackup 6.5.4 (Windows 2003 version), whilst the HELP file still mentions the option however.

Anybody have an idea why they removed that option???

Hey Andy

Thanks for your answer...

Indeed if you add the client via the CLIENTS TAB the option is still there.

Any idea why the option isn't there (anymore?) when adding the client to the overview screen (Which is what I was used to doing)...

Thanks!

Oversight?

Have only got Admin Consoles down to 6.5 (Master @ 6.5.4) so cannot check on anything earlier, but they are all showing the same.

I just checked my old 6.0 environment and indeed that shows the same...

I guess I must have imagined it there before or so...

Annoying tho!

"Totally" different format. Wouldn't worry tho', you're not missing much!

I never seems to detect correclty for me

I might have a x64 windows 2008 and it comes back with a x86 2003

So I would not worry about it, and always check that what it shows is right.
