BMR with PXE boot hangs starting network...

I am testing BMR. We are using NetBackup 6.5.3.1. When booting with PXE the client hangs starting the network interface, after downloading image from the PXE server. But ISO disks to same client work fine. Any ideas? the Boot server running PXE is not the DHCP server.

Several things you might want to check

1. Client is on the same VLAN as the DHCP server
2. If the new destination client has a different NIC, the Fast Restore ISO may not contain a valid driver
3. Identify and download updated NIC driver
4. Add a driver package and recreate the Fast Restore ISO

Test BMR and see how you go.

Yes the VLAN is something I will check. I am okay with the NIC drivers though because I can boot BMR from CD and it works fine.

 

1. Client is on the same VLAN as the DHCP server
