Backing up sparse files on Sol10

Mugsy
Not applicable
I'm having some major performance issues backing up a large database containing a bunch of sparse files under Solaris 10.  Unfortunately the database in question isn't one that has any sort of agent for netbackup.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to improve backup and restore for sparse files?

try to make a snapshot of ufs/zfs/vxfs/whatever_fs_you_have, mount it to separate folder and copy it from there.
Sometimes this can really improve the performance.
