This is probably why client does not start bpbkar after successful connection from media server.

Please update client patch level to 6.5.6 and see if that makes a difference.

PS: Any reason why entire bptestbpcd output is bold? 
It makes reading difficult....

I have a doubt here, from your earlier post then the above.

As per BPCD logs, it is trying to find the version file under "/usr/openv/netbackup/" 

Whereas in Client server "Version file" only exists under "/usr/openv/netbackup/bin" file system.

Why is it trying to find it under "/usr/openv/netbackup/".

Do this refers to Master Server "Version file" or what, I guess its not.

You are correct - seems the version error is a red herring....

We are looking at connection attempts from different servers.

Failed backup attempt in opening post is from Media server usnbub5504-brn but bpcd log collected about an hour later shows successful connection from a server called  usnbub5500. 
bptestbpcd was also done from usnbub5500.

We need to see client's bpcd log after backup attempt or bptestbpcd from media server usnbub5504-brn.

You already said it - change Storage Unit. Backup should work.

Why not fix connectivity between media server and client? This will give you more flexible backup options.

This is done, media server entry was missing at client side, just update that and it is going good..
