Backup of Virtual cluster drive

Here is my current environment:

new file server is clustered, node a and node b, with virutal node C. I need to be able to back C, whether node a or node b is active. I have already installed netbackup client on each node, but when I try to backup node c from netbackup, I receive error 59, access to the client was not allowed. How can I get netbackup to "see" the virtual node C? Looking for exact steps.

Hi Josh,

Have you ping or telnet successfully to node C from master & media server and same from both node a and b to master/media servers?
Have you also tried "bpclntcmd -hn " or "bpclntcmd -ip " ?

virtual node C needs a virtual name AND an associated IP address

Hi Josh,
How my best practice to backup a clustered environment, I create a policy using the virtual cluster name to backup the shared data, e another policy using the physical names to backup local drives. So doesn't matter where are the clustered data they are backup, to do a restore of clustered data you can use the virtual name or make a alternative restore using the physical name.
