Can fileserver data be restored without including SHARE information?

Anyone know if data can be restored from a backup keeping the ACLs (no problem)  but EXCLUDING the SHARE information?

We are migrating to a new fileserver (from Win2k3 to Win2k8) and don't want to carry over the share information as part of a cleanup/redesign.

Warning bpbrm(pid=1300) from client xxxxxxxx: WRN - 'Server' service needs to be restarted for share to take effect: Z:\Foldername\Subfoldername

You cannot exclude it during the restore but after the restore has completed you can delete the appropriate registry keys from the client so that the shares do not get created after a reboot:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares

Hope this helps

Huumm - Looks like Netbackup is designed to work this way. I guess you need to remove share information manually after restore.
