Nothing directly in Netbackups' reporting facilities, but Opscenter has several restore report formats so you'd be best looking down that route.

Agree with Andy. What exactly you are looking for?

BY default in Ops Center you have 3 restore reports
1> Restore job details.
Lists all the completed restore jobs for selected timeframe. This report is valid for NetBackup and NetBackup Appliance.

2> Restore job attempt summary by job count
Graphical summary of number of restore job attempts per day. This report is valid for NetBackup and NetBackup Appliance.

3> Restore job attempt summary by volume restored
Graphical summary of volume of data restored per day. This report is valid for NetBackup and NetBackup Appliance.

There is noting directly in NetBackup but if you don't have OpsCenter and really need something then there are a few things you can do.

Firstly bear in mind that by default most logs are only kept by NetBackup for 28 days so you may not be able to go back 2 months anyway (OpsCenter does keep things longer depending on your settings and license)

So, you can run an All Log Entries report for a 2 month period ... this will be pretty huge and take a while to run but once done you can save it out to a text file and import it into excel to allow you to sort and search it which will pick up all of the restore information.

If it  is a specific client you are interested in the you can look on your Master server, Media Servers, the client itself and any Remote Admin Cosole PC's under <install path>netbackup\logs\user_ops\

In there will be folders based on the logged on user that ran an operation.

Under each user you can drill down to a jobs and logs folder where you will find the details of each restore that was carried out

Without OpsCenter I think these are you only real options

Hope this helps

You dont have much hope for previous restores but going forward you can save the restore logfiles. If the restore is done using bprestore then you can use the option -L progress_log.

If you do the restore via a GUI then it will ask you if you want to use the default log location. This gives you an opportunity to place the restore logfile in a folder of your choice.

Much depends on how restore requests are handled. If the requests come from a software package (like remedy) that issues a ticket then you can check there for a history of restore requests.

If this need is for 2 months restore info for auditing then there are several other steps that can be done to ensure that only specifically designated server/users are used for restores.

NBU Auditing combined with NBAC (Access control) can also report on restore jobs.

Good point Marianne .. and auditing is turned on by default these days ..

Worth trying:

nbauditreport -sdate 01/01/2013

Probably not configured deep enough for you though by default
