I had perhaps a problem with the count of Netbackup that start the service client of netbackup, I deleted this account and create new one with its Mailboxe in Exchange. and i added user netbackup as Exchange View-Only Administrators , admin domain ..etc

When i logged with this account i can see all Exchange Mailboxes with Netbackup client.

Thanks very match for your help.

You need a domain user id with sufficient permissions at Exchange level.

See p. 56 and 136 of NBU for Exchange Server Admin Guide  http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3669

You can also have a look at these Videos explaining step-by-step how to config:

See http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO41825

See Configuring Individual Mailbox Item Backups on Exchange 2003 and 2007 using NetBackup 6.5 and 7.0

Hi,

The user netbackup has all permissions at Exchange and admin of domain.

are you trying to GRT with backup to tape?

Someone correct me if wrong but I though you could only do GRT if you backed up to disk.

MAPI backups (Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes:\) are still supported with Exchange 2007 and earlier.

@aitallal, did you remember to change the NetBackup Client Service logon account to the netbackup user? And also specify the account/mailbox in Host Properties?  (See above-mentioned documentation).
