Compressing VERITAS\Volmgr\debug\reqlib\ logs

I have been asked by my sys admin if he can compress the various log files in the VERITAS\Volmgr\debug\reqlib\ directory using the built in compression on a Windows 2003 Server. He only wants to compress the ones from Jan and Feb 07, not any later ones.

Is this a bad idea?

Or is there a way to only keep logs for the last 2 months instead of 4 months?

You thoughts would be most appreciated.

You need these log files only for troubleshooting purposes. You can compress these log files or you can turn off this logging by removing VERBOSE from your vm.conf file/registery.
