Disaster Recovery File retention

Wondering how far back I need to keep these little files for? Not taking up space but I like to keep things clean. Is 30 days acceptable?

As far back as you have a catalog tape.  If the catalog tape has expired then you should have the file expire with it.  You never know what kind of disaster will happen and which tape you will have to restore from.  So think of them as matched sets.
