Duplication from NetBackup 7.0.1 to 7.6.1.2

Hello,

I'm upgrading our NetBackup environment gradually from version 7.0.1 to version 7.6.1.2. Currently we have already upgraded the master and a media server to version 7.6.1.2.

Can a media server in version 7.0.1 duplicate its backup images to the one in version 7.6.1.2?

Yes that is fine. https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH29677

FYI, I've opened a case with support and they pointed the fact that documentation is only talking about backup operations. Deduplication from an older Media Server is not supported.

The other way around 7.6.1.2 -> 7.0.1 is working great however.

OK. I therefore have an issue since the duplication is not working with the following logs:

It looks like NetBackup cannot find where to store the duplicated image on the upgraded Media Server.

Correct, but your job kicked into non-optimized when it realized that you were duplicating to / from different versions. So deduplication is not involved, you might as well have been duplicating from 7.0.1 to tape.....
