Error 156, no bpfis logging created

On a Linux NB7.1 domain, I have a Win 2008 R2 VM that 156's on VADP jobs, but succeeds on convential file system backups

The bpcd log on the VM show everything is working correctly on the Flash-Windows jobs.  However, the job exits with 156 instantly with the typical "FTL - snapshot creation failed, status 156" and "WRN - ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES is not frozen".  But then no bpfis log is written on the VM.

I can run tests ( bpfis delete -fim VSS -id test1 C:\ ) successfully and log to bpfis normally.

Where should I go to next after bpcd logs when a Flash-windows job never even creates a bpbkar or bpfis log?

does the VM is able to make snaphsot from Vcenter?

what is the error that the Vcenter console is getting when the backup failed with snapshot?

you need to look into the bpfis log of the backup host.. not in the VM

The VM is able to make snapshots from VCenter.

The Vcenter error (when Netbackup is used)  says, "The guest OS has reported an error during quiescing.  The error code was 5.  The error message was VssSyncStart operation failed.  IDispatch error #8451 (0x80042303).

It has one static IP address.

vssadmin shows only Shadow Copy and all writers stable.

I have not enabled verbose logging on the Backup Host yet.  That will be scheduled next if required, but it would be nice if I could figure out what is wrong just from the verbose = 0 bpfis log fromt he Backup Host.

Problem solved.  Anti-virus on the VM's was outdated and interfering.  I do not understand why an AV would block only snaps intitiated by Netbackup, but it's working now.
