Hi folks

NBU client server 7.1.0.2  four drives C, D, E ,F. C D F being backedup under MS windows policy name POLICY1 , backup selection ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES, mutistreaming is ON, E:\ excluded from using exclude list, It is updated in windows registry. E: contains 2 TB data hence backedup under flash backup policy.

when incremental backup of POLICY starts E:\ stream also starts ends with 0 byte count.

when full backup of POLICY starts E:\ stream also starts but fails with error code 90.

question1 : why E:\ stream starts when it is in exclude list.

question2 : why it fails when FULL backup starts ?

please advise

When "Allow multiple streams" is enabled in the policy with ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES directive, NetBackup creates backup jobs for each drive. Then in each job, bpbkar proccess examines exclude list at client side. So it is normal that jobs for excluded drives are generated.

I'm not sure why incremental backups end without error. If full backup fails with status code 90, I expect incrementals also fail with status code 90. Please review exclude list to ensure this exclude entry is set to all schedules in POLICY1.

Known issue.... See http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125205

Put E:\* in exclude list.
