Error while creating Point in time Configuration - Netbackup 7.1

Hello,

My infra: Netbackup 7.1, installed in Windows Server 2008 R2.

I get this error message while trying to create a Point In Time configuration for a specific client:

PIT.JPG

It is a Windows Server 2008 R2 client, and ordinary restores work fine, but this time, i must recover it to previous backup. This error message, is displayed only after setting the name of the configuration and choosing the desired backup (date/time).

I ask now, how can i resolve this problem.

Thank you in advance.

What is your policy type? Are you recovering files from a Windows-NT backup, or a database such as Exchange or SQL Server? What options are you using?

Please use the terms NetBackup uses. I don't know what you mean by "point in time configuration." Do you mean your are choosing an option in the Backup Archive and Restore application (the "BAR GUI")? If so, how you do it differs between a Windows restore and an Exchange restore, for example.

Look at your job details, or the BAR GUI's progress viewer, to find the step that reports the first error. Then look at the appropriate server or client logs.

NetBackup 7.1 was a long time ago.

Thank you for your reply.

I am trying to restore a Windows Server 2008 R2 (BMR) client. And the error above just after clicking ok..

Ah, BMR. No wonder I was lost. I don't know BMR.

Thank you anyway. For upgrade, it's planned for this summer.

But, i really need to resolve this problem for this Netbackup client.

Hello,

create/review bmr* subdirectories in %netbackup%\logs on Master for a more detailed info.

Michal

Hello Michal, thank you for your reply.

Already generated all log folders, which one might help debug or resolve this problem?

Thank you again.

Hello,

probably bmrprep. Simulate the error again and check last modification time for all logs.

regards

Michal

Hello Michal, and thank you for your reply.
