I can ping both ways with no issues.  I have it configured to backup just the Microsoft SharePoint Resources.

This was working a couple of weeks ago and now it isn't/

Huh? are you doing backup or restore or both?

Is uns4025-38 also the SQL backend server? If not, can you check if this host can communicate with the SQL server?

Hi Wr,

I must admit "Info bpbrm(pid=5716) uns4025-38 is the host to restore to" is misleading. SharePoint backup job will show this even though it's doing backup.

Hi Nathan,

Given the error, it looks like NetBackup is unable to enumerate your SharePoint farm's topology. To verify, simply launch NetBackup Backup, Archive & Restore GUI on your SharePoint front-end server (run as administrator). Click Select for backup and check if "Micorosoft SharePoint Resources" is listed on the All Folders list.

Assuming there is no change to your NetBackup credential & the account is not expired, try:

http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/sharepoint-2010-farm-topology-not-visible-backup-archive-restore-gui

Let see how it goes.

Cheers,

Wiriadi

uns4025-38 is the front end not the SQL back end.  Trying to do a backup.

Wiriadi I will give that a try.

Ok So I log into UNS4025-38 and Open in Backup, Archive, and restore and I am able to see the Microsoft Sharepoint Resources with no issues.  I am going to try to back them up from the client to see what happens.

This known issue in NB7.5.0.5: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH202784 probably does not match your symptom since you can view the topology, but it may help with the SPSWrapper log that you can check if it's doing something there.

Also bpresolver and application event log (on the front end server) may help.

^ I will take a look into that.  Thank you.

Have you gone through the checklist in TECH146218?

Yes I have went though all that and was at one time able to back up.  I will review that again also.

Went back though every things and found one issue.

Some how the backup Operations was not set up in the local sercurity privileges for Allow log on locally.

Changed that reran the backup and it worked.

Not to get a LUN to my server and start testing Granular backups.
