There must be another way other than doing a ps then kill -9 the proc's.

Doug,

The best way to do this is run this command as root.

to stop
/sbin/init.d/netbackup stop
to start
/sbin/init.d/netbackup start

Hello Doug,

I noticed that the homepage you have listed in your profile, http://web.tampabay.rr.com/batcave/unixnotes.htm
is available via a link from James' homepage as "Doug's Page".
LOL - It's a small world afterall?

You can also use the script
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/bp.kill_all

I have noticed that sometimes the "netbackup stop" does not kill all of the daemons.Message was edited by:

Doug,

Great Web Page! It is a small world after all! Why are you linking to my page? You have some great stuff on the page, I made it a favorite.
