How to backup RDM on ESXI 4.1

Anyone can share your experience ?

I want to use Disk Storage Unit copy the data to its another San Lun (That assigned from data store).

Then, we zone that Lun to a backup server and using it backup to VTL.

However, this method cannot pass the policy validation.

You can't backup RDM using the vmware agent but can back it up as normal physical server.RDMs are not supported with NetBackup for VMware agent. Just install the NBU agent on the client and take the backup of RDM drive.

I am just confused.. 

you want to copy the data in disk storage unit (having backup images) to another LUN?  and Zone to another host and back it up again with VTL method?

Also confused....

As per NBU for VMware guide, you can use Snapshot Client to backup RDM disks.

This means that you should be able to use hardware mirror and snapshot to different lun and backup from there.
