HI All ,

While taking the backup of Windows 2008 server having SQL services installed on it we are receiving the below error message from bpbkar logs :

10:26:44.047 AM: [2444.7892] <4> tar_base::V_vTarMsgW: INF - tar message received from dos_backup::tfs_scannext
10:26:44.047 AM: [2444.7892] <2> tar_base::V_vTarMsgW: INF - Filtered 'BEDS Exclude' Object: D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe

And as per the technote http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH178959 those files are backed up via SCC backup ,backup of this server is completed with status 0 , which shows that those files are backed up up via SCC but when I restore the server through BMR restore completed successfully and server comes online but when we tested our SQL application , those 3 files are missing in the destination server due to which our SQL application is not comes into active status . now If I look on BMR logs its also completed with status 0 . The only thing I can do is to restore the SQL application again as these are part of SQL application but client is asking why NBU is unable to restore those file and I googled almost every Tech Note related to this but unable to found any solution .

Master Server :  Windows 2008 R2 / NBU 7.1.0.4

Media Server Windows 2008 R2 / NBU 7.1.0.4

Client : Windows 2008 R2 / NBU 7.0.1

Kindly have a look on my issue .

Regards .

hi  Rohit,

you have 2 way to make user that the desire file is being backup or not

1) bpbkar log with Verbose 5 while doing the backup and serch for the exe file in bpbkar log which says file is included.

2) restore the System sate into anothe location and browse the system state to look for the file  that you want

also check

Please do a normal file restore? only restore the  3 missing files.

HI Nagalla,

Bpbkar logs for one of the missing file  :-

7:41:44.875 AM: [7876.5964] <2> ov_log::V_GlobalLog: INF -   o: d:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10_50.mssqlserver\mssql\binn\sqlagent.exe

8:17:13.606 AM: [7876.5964] <2> ov_log::V_GlobalLog: INF - brUtil::SetupDLE Succesfully set up to read the object 'D:' '\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10_50.mssqlserver\mssql\binn\' 'SQLAGENT.EXE' 'd:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10_50.mssqlserver\mssql\binn\SQLAGENT.EXE'
8:17:13.606 AM: [7876.5964] <2> ov_log::V_GlobalLog: INF - brUtil::OpenActiveObject Information: Active Object is a Directory D:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10_50.mssqlserver\\

8:17:13.622 AM: [7876.5964] <2> ov_log::V_GlobalLog: INF - brUtil::OpenActiveObject Information: Active Object is a File D:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql10_50.mssqlserver\mssql\binn\SQLAGENT.EXE

Which shows that this file is getting backedup but when I restore the SCC and System state it completed with status 1 and I am unable to locate those file inside the destination path
