How to delete Veritas Volume Shadow cache files.

Hello,

I'm using NetBackup Enterprise Server 6.0MP5 on Windows Server 2003 SP2 (master server).

Sometimes, the backup on a windows client fails, so the VSP cache files are automatically deleted, they are owned by SYSTEM account. How can I delete these files, please?

TIA,
Vinicius.

You will need to download the program Process Explorer from Microsoft. Here. Use it to find the handles that have the files still open. Close those handles and you will then be able to delete them. Also check your antivirus software on the servers to make sure it is exluding the directories or extensions for the cache files. That is the problem I had in the past the antivirus was holding on to them.

yes. Please exclude them from the anti virus checking and that will stop this from happenning in the future.

yes. The process explorere will identify current problems and allow you to fix them.
