1.Make sure the user "admin" has privilages on the host.
2.Make sure the local host is listed in the server list of the destination host "backup.in.vpn"
3.Make sure there is a valid Network connection

Favorite one for me to get caught out on is:

2. Make sure the local host is listed in the server list of the destination host <hostname>

Need "SERVER=" entry in bp.conf for the 'client' that is trying to open the Admin Console, or via GUI under Host P{roperties/Master Server/Servers tab in the "Additional Servers" box.

Ya I checked that and we have that Windows Media server Entry on that Master server bp.conf.
1)
SERVER=media.in.vpn

MEDIA_SERVER=media.in.vpn
2)
And i have one more thig ,

  I could not find the user "admin" in auth.conf file .
3)
Connectivity is fine between maseter and media server . I can able to telnet to 13722 (bpjava-msc) on master server from Media server.
4)
All the services are running fine on master server .here is the bpps -x output.

the bp.conf will also have that entry. i.e.

SERVER=backup.in.vpn                (as first entry for Master server)
SERVER=media.in.vpn                  (entry for Additional Servers or "other servers that can access currently selected host")
MEDIA_SERVER=media.in.vpn    (entry for Media server)

We have our master and media server entry on bp.conf file.

The issue got resolved after recycling both master and Media server ...

Thats to all for your replies !!!
