Hello friends,
i hope you can help me. I will buy a HP MSL8096 with 2 LTO-5 drives. If NetBackup 6.0 MP5 supports this drive version?
Does somebody use NetBackup 6.0 MP5 with a LTO-5 drive?
Are there for Netbackup 6.0 MP5 a more actual hardware support matrix?
Thank you for your help!
Regards

Veritas NetBackup (tm) Server / Enterprise Server 6.0 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) - includes information for supported drives, libraries, virtual tape devices, robot-types, fibre-channel HBAs, switches, routers/bridges, iSCSI configurations, and encryption solutions.

Altho' it does appear in the same for NB6.5 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH48687

I just had a look at 'Release Details' for NBU 6.0 MP5:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=releasedetails&key=15143
The Release Date was 2007-08-06. I doubt that LTO 5 tape drives were available back then...
When you take the brave step to upgrade your hardware, upgrade your backup software as well to support it!
Andy has posted the 6.5 Compatibilty Guide - ensure that the new tape drives are supported on your O/S.
