Lost FC Connectivity to Tape Library

Hi

I have a Sun Server with Solaris 8 and VERITAS NetBackup version 5.1MP2 installed.

The Sun Server has been configured to connect Quantum M1500 Tape Library and EMC CX500 storage via FC switch.

There are 2 FC-HBA being used (QLogic QLA2300).

The configuration for qla2300.conf is default, therefore no persistent binding being used.

The Sun Server has intermittently encountered with lost connectivity with tape library. Interim work around is reboot the server and performing devfsadm to re-detect the tape library and the tape drives. There is no problem with the connectivity to SAN storage.

Question is do i need to enable persistent binding on qla2300 ?
Would there will be any impact or affecting SAN storage connectivity that without persistent binding configured ?

The configuration that I will be updated:

/kernel/drv/qla2300.conf
hba0-SCSI-target-id-0-fibre-channel-node-name="2000001134251730"
hba0-SCSI-target-id-0-fibre-channel-port-name="2100001134251730"

The above WWN is for FC Bridge for the library.

Is the following parameter needed ?
hba0-persistent-binding-configuration=0;

Thank you.
