Migrating off a Master server

Would like to see if anyone can recommend some best practices when migrating off a Master server with an older catalog?  Moving from HP-UX 11.11 version 1 running NBKUP 6.5.6 to SuSE x86.  We will be keeping the same host names, library connections(fibre); etc.  Thanks!

You can only migrate to another Unix/Linux server that is on exactly the same NBU and patch level.

Firstly, choose a SLES x86-64 version that is compatible with NBU 6.5.6 as well as NBU 7.5.x:

NetBackup 7 Operating System (CL) :  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76648

NBU 6.5 Operating System (CL) http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH70729

then use this TN to use hot catalog backup and restore to migrate to new server. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77448

Upgrade to 7.5.x after migration.
