Multipath software support for vStorage API backups in NetBackup

Hi Experts,

Please let me know if anybody has used multipath for vStorage API backups in NetBackup, If yes, is there any support matrix that i've to check.

since API's are provided by VMware, I'm also checking with them.

Symantec support's feedback is that untill the multipath is supported by OS it should work but I'm a bit concerned as VDAP are accessing vmfs luns.

Storage is VSP and we intend to use HDML.  On ESX we are using native multipathing.

Thanks in advance for all your valuable feedback yes. You guys ROCK. enlightened

Thanks!

cool Satish

Look on page 19 and 20 where it has a caveat about multi-path support to the VM data stores. This applies to Linux and the 5220 appliance as well. Windows is OK to use Multipathing.

Multipath / powerpath is totally depends on OS & netbackup will work with or without multipath.
