Environment:
Master Server = RHEL 6 (VM)
Media Server = RHEL 6
VTL = data Domain DD880 w/ code 5.1.1.0
NetBackup sees the robot and the drives. We just cannot get any tapes to show up doing an inventory. Here is where I'm at so far:

IOCTL(failed): Success - You are OK - This is a standart message in Linux, the word to look for is "Success"
You need to import the tape fist from the vault. Using the web gui go to:
Data Management -> VTL -> VTL service - Libraries - > Name (of robot) -> More task (right side) -> Import tape.

Robtest shows what the library (VTL) sees.
As long as all slots say 'Contains Cartridge = no', there is is nothing that can be done from NBU point of view.
You need to check the VTL config. Ensure media is configured and visible in VTL.

Yeah, it sees the drives it is the cartridge slots that I'm confused about.

I created 500 tapes in the DD880, expecting that to return into scratch pool when inventory, but i get up to date with nothing
