Is having a NBU master and media server in one cluster (active/passive) supported by Symantec? If yes, which version supports it?

We have customers that have been running clustered Master/media server since 6.5.

You can read up about device config on clustered master in the manuals:

6.5: NBU High Availability Guide:  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH52835

7.0: NBU High Availability Guide   http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127045

7.1: NBU Clustered Master Server Admin Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3679

7.5: NBU Clustered Master Server Admin Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5184

Long story short: Ensure both nodes can see/use devices at OS level.
Run Device config wizard on node 1.
Failover to node 2. Run device config wizard.

A true active/passive clustered master server is supported. Clustered media servers is not supported.

Pls see Netbackup 7.5 cluster compability matrix
