NDMP restore not working for PDF files

HI Team,

We have NBU working on windows server 2008 R2 with NBU version 7.6.0.4, we have configured new NDMp backups and they work fine, I am able to restore all the files except for pdf.

Did anyone observe such issues, please advice.

NetApp version 8.3.2 NDMP V4

Is the restore failing?
What is the error message?

key message is "Cannot restore files with NT streams". You can google a few hits for this phrase, but no one seems to be useful.

I recommend support case opening.

Thanks for your inputs, the strange thing is if I restore folder which has pdf files it works, however I cant restore indivisual pdf files.

I strongly recommend that you log a Support call firstly with NetApp.
Maybe Veritas as well, but the error seems to be coming from NetApp, not NetBackup.

Google search for 'NT Streams' error find NetApp links related to restore from snapshot copy.

Further searches found links related to Enhanced DAR functionality needed for directory DAR, and DAR of files with NT Streams.

I am no NetApp specialist, but it seems that these settings need to be enabled for  Enhanced DAR functionality: 

Backup must be done with Dump option:

• Data ONTAP 8.0 or later supports enhanced DAR
• File history is enabled (HIST=Y) during the backup
• The ndmpd.offset_map.enable option is set to on
• ENHANCED_DAR_ENABLED variable is set to "Y" during restore

Again - I do not have any NetApp knowledge, but above NetApp URLs seems to indicate that this is firstly NetApp issue and secondly Veritas (as far as correct backup options/variables are concerned).
