I want to implement an backup setup with the below criterias.Need all of your help by giving answers to my questions.
Setup Detail
1) DC
2 Nos. IBM Server having Hyper-V. Application will be installed on Hyper-V Vms.
1 Nos IBM Server with MS Win2k12 Std. / DC Edi. As backup server.
Total 11VMs. 4 SAP, 1 AD, 2 Exchange, 1 Blackberry, 1 File Server and 3 Other
2) DR
2 Nos. IBM Server having Hyper-V. Application will be installed on Hyper-V Vms.
1 Nos. IBM Server with MS Win2k12 Std. / DC Edi. As backup server.
Total 12VMs. 5 SAP, 1 AD, 2 Exchange, 1 Blackberry, 1 File Server and 3 Other
3) Network: 10G Dark Fiber Network between two sits. Both will be in different Subnet.
4) Distance between : 600-700 Meter.
5) Backup Application : Symantec NetBackup. Detail BoM attached.
Requirement
a) Back up policies needs to be determined at the time of implementation and needs to be implemented accordingly. Vendor should come up with best practice of Backup, base on that backup policy will be determined.
b) Testing and Demonstration of backups and restores to be done. First testing will be done after installation, second testing will done after go live of application.
c) Step by step kind operational documentation need to submit.
d) Operational Training needs to be provided to our designated team for taking back up and restoring it.
e) Configuration training needs to be given to our designated team.
f) Application aware back up for major application like SAP Production system, SAP Non-Production system (database: Oracle), Exchange etc. and file level back up for file server, SAP DMS (Database: MaxxDb) etc.
g) We want to take back up from SAP production & DMS Production and restore it on SAP Dev or SAP QA & DMS Dev respectively. Require configuration have to do at backup application level.
h) We want to restore back up taken at DC at DR and vice-versa. Require configuration have to do in backup application to achieve this.
i) If DC site back up server or backup device fails, then back should happen at DR site using DR site application and devices and vice-versa.
j) If DR called out and application move to DR, then back up should happen at DR.
k) For SAP and Exchange, it will be application aware backup.
l) At time of implementation, we will have to move data from existing storage to new storage.
m) Provision to take back up of Volume copy or clone or snapshot.
n) Automatic back up of logs which are generated of SAP, Exchange at regular interval.
o) We have Hyper-V, and application will be on VM. VM and OS back up needs to be configured.
p) Agent for mailing solution back up should take back up of exchange, or any other known mailing solution.
