NetBackup 60 D2D testing

Folks,

Have NetBackup 60 installed in a test invironment (non-networked) on a stand-alone pc running RHLinux with no physical scsi tape units(libraries) connected.  Would like to do some D2D testing with backup's and restore's.

Question?

In the pc, there is the master drive where NBU6.0 is installed.  A second drive (slave) has been installed and is seen during bootup to do the backups and restores to.  Does the slave drive need formatted to Linux ext3 in order to see the drive in NBU gui's?

Any inputs or suggestions on configuration would be most helpful.

What is the current filesystem on the second drive? RHEL can't read/write ntfs ootb.

I posted this in your other thread:
What flavor of linux are you running? Many versions cannot read or write to ntfs without tinkering with the kernel. The short answer is yes, it would be best to use a filesystem native to the OS. Even if you could write ntfs on your linux build the functionality still isn't 100% perfect, and backups are usually something you don't want to gamble with.

ekim,

Will format the slave drive using gparted to ext3 which linux can see.  Currently I believe its NTFS (Windows)

Don't forget you will probably have to mount the drive manually initially, then set it up so that it can automount after reboots, etc.
