Netbackup 7.5.0.5 for VMware, NBD Backups

My understanding of how NBD works when performing virtual machine backups using VADP for VMware is that the network connection between the backup host and the ESXi host uses the NFC server on the ESXi host, which is initiated over the management vmkernel port.

My question; if I have a secondary management vmkernel port, is there a way to to force Netbackup to use that? Is Netbackup using host names to connect to the individual ESXi servers? If so, maybe a host file change to point those host names to the IP of the secondary management network?

i would say hosts file is the best option if you dont what to manuiplate with DNS

are you using the Vcenter to identify the VMs or ESXi host?

if you are using the ESXi for VM identiification... you can directly add the secondry port IP in Netbackup Credintials  and try soo.. you will not have ESXi name in place in this approach.
