Hi @RILTextile

You see code 96 when there is no free tapes available of that density (HCART??) , pool and retention in the robot.

Run the script : install_path\NetBackup\bin\goodies\available_media.cmd to get a overview.

It is good practice to have enough free tapes in the robot, what enough is depend on your consumption. But typical this values slides accordingly to storage growth.

There is also some tech note on the topic :

Hello,

you should investigate a root cause - why the media are getting frozen. It could be a hardware problem, or a logical problem (3rd party tape header on the tape). You will find more info in the appropriate jobs, or in the Reports\Tape Logs.

Agreed - especially if many tapes are getting "frozen" - a drive with a tape stuck in it will sometimes show as empty and freeze every tape attempted to load there.

Check drives and tapes to find common factor - is it a drive or tapes?
