Netbackup Operations Manager

JUST INSTALLED NOM AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING OK EXCEPT THE JOB MONITOR.
ITS SHOWING NOT CONNECTED AND ITS NOT COLLECTING DATA.
ANY IDEAS?

did you add the name of the NOM server to the Master server properties in the Servers List?

Have you tried doing what I call a jump start -

in the NOM console
go to Monitoring then Master Servers
on the left choose this one server then below choose disable collection
F5 refresh until the status on the right says offline
then enable collection and again f5 refresh until it says online.

Not sure if this will help or not but you can try.

I suffered through the pain of getting NOM working so i'll be glad to assist here.


I do need some info upfront though:

1. What is your version of Netbackup?

2. What version of netbackup is installed where your NOM server is?

3.  Is reporting working but job monitor isnt?

You know I had been watching the post about NOM and way all ready to have issues getting it to work.

But the first time I fired it up and add the master servers it works just fine, I have not had any issues with it at all.

Wonder why it works for some and not others.

If you follow the guideline exactly it sometimes doesnt work. Especially if you've ever installed it before. Uninstall doesnt actually cleanup everything as it should:).


Whoda thunk that their support script was also broken when they tried to run it?
