Netbackup daemons not coming up

ronak_padhya

I am not able to open many of the GUI windows for Netbackup.

For eg: while opening the Activity Monitor > Jobs window i see the error "Connection to bpjobd daemon on server failed". Similar is the case for many windows in Netbackup GUI.

Many of the daemons are not running.

Root filesystem for the server was full, so i freed up some space and restarted Netbackup but it doesnt seem to work.

I have followed the steps mentioned in the following link but still the problem remains

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/disk-volume-full

Even the logging levels are at there default values and the log files doesnt seem to fill up the filesystem.

Thanks to Marianne,

I found the solution in this post

http://forum.support.veritas.com/connect/zh-hans/forums/netbackup-656-activity-monitor-not-responding-bpjobd-not-responding

restarting all the daemons

still not sure what does these commands do and what is the difference between each of them.

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bp.start_all

/opt/VRTSpbx/bin/vxpbx_exchanged start

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/netbackup start
