Netbackup guides for VM and Netware setup

Hello,

I am new to Netbackup and would like to learn  how to  configure vm clients for backups  Incremental and full (one day a week) Does anyone have any VM  guides, materials for VM? or know where I can locate them?

 Also, Is there a Netbackup  for Netware guide? We have a few Novell Netware clients we backup  and would like to know how to Install/configure them for NetBackup.

We are using Netbackup 7

Please consider upgrading to 7.0.1 or 7.1 as MANY fixes and enhancements were introduces since 7.0.

There are a few ways to do it. You can use the traditional method. That is just put a NBU Client on the VMware client. From there create you traditional backup policy.

If you go with the "direct integration with the VMWare vStorage API for Data Protection" you may need to purchase a NetBackup Enterprise Client License for each VMWare host, then install the Key on your master server. Until you do that the features may not be revealed in the Admin Console.

The Neware Guide doesn't seem to show how to install the client on a Novell Netware server without the CD, We won't be using  CD's to install the client. Can the Netbackup Client be installed without the CD?

Yes - all NBU software can be installed from the download files. The steps are the same.
