Oracle Export Dump (expdp) and Netbackup

I would like to take an export dump from Oracle 11g Release 2 (using expdp utility not traditional export) directly to tape using Netbackup. Is there any workaround to perform this or any UNIX level scripting can help me to achieve this.

My Netbackup Client version is NetBackup-RedHat2.6 6.5.6 and OS Version is Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga).

Let me know if you need any other information.

NetBackup agent for Oracle works with RMAN.

I cannot see any other way that you can backup from RMAN directly to NBU tape.

This suggestion is a workaround, and will not work if media server and Oracle client are different hosts.

Netbackup does give the possibility to mount/dismount a tape and provide unique access to a device driver with the tpreq command. Data written to the tape will not be in the Netbackup Catalog and the tape cannot be re-used by Netbackup due to data format differences (control usage by a custom Netbackup pool). All appends need to be custom controlled, Netbackup is not involved in the transfer.

As I said - A workaround.
