Hi,

I have some issue on policy..... i earlier had Retention level of 4 weeks. someone has changed it to 2 weeks......
(1) Is there any way to check the date of this change..... 
(2) the id of the person who changed it...

If possible please provide both of the info.... I m using NBU 6.5

There is a Script that backup and restore the policies.

about to know WHO had made the change, is difficult is there is only one user to log.

however, you can use NOM and create regular user there without rights to modify policy.
IIRC it also has a built-in alert for policy change.

but if it was not implemented before this change happened then you don't have any evidence for your inquiry

does this script run on its own or we need to run it manually....
where can we find this script....

Ahh that script runs at the master server, but only unix based.

I tryed a few weeks ago backing up some files..


UNIX:

/opt/openv/netbackup/db/class

Here you can find basically all the policies

I have TAR that files... changed some polices and restore it up.

<veritas path>/netbackup/db/class


give a Try..

create a policy, copy it to another place..

change the policy,

and restore it..

Maybe it can help you
