in the Admin Console.
Basically search for the image(s) that you want first & then duplicate. It is relatively straightforward & is covered in the Admin Guide plus:

(there is a similar one for UNIX)

in gui go to catalog (this is a search screen)
your action is duplication
put your tape number in the media id (this is the source tape)
down in the date section -- just change the year of between to some year you know is before the backup was done like 2000
hit the search now button
it will come back with all images on that tape
be sure to check the media id column to see if the image spans mulit tapes.
pick all pick any
right click and say dup
read the help on all the items here - when you pick a volume pool it will append if you have active tapes in the pool that are in the lib, so if you need it to go to just one all by itself you might need to suspend other tapes in the pool till this gets started

Procedures described above will COPY (duplicate) from source tape to a tape in the destination pool that you specify.
Again, if you want your duplication on a specific tape, ensure that only that one media-id is in the pool that you specify.
Once the duplication has succeeded, you can expire the original tape.
Please let us know once the duplication has completed.
We will then help with expiration of copy1. This will automatically 'promote' the copy to primary.
