Restores to NAS

Good Morning,

When performing a restore, is possible to land the data onto a NAS. I have a drive mapped to a 24TB area, however, when attempting a restore I get the following error:

I can however restore the same data to the local Media Server.

Thanks,

Steve - is there a way to make FreeNAS a member of the Active Directory domain?

Unfortunately, I don't believe this can be done in our environment. The NBU server is standalone and is just in a Workgroup.

Hi Steve, I don't think that lack of domain membership of the NetBackup Master is an issue.  I was more thinking that lack of domain membership of the FreeNAS instance might be an issue.  Worth checking?   Could you fire up a test FreeNAS in VMware and try a POC (Proof Of Concept)?

The guy I work with says we can't attach the storage to the domain. :(

Attaching it as 'local' via iSCSI is indeed attaching the storage to the domain.

Security is not something that should be your concern.
All you can do in the restore GUI is to 'Restore without access control attributes'.
Security and permissions should be someone else's responsibility.

The option to 'Restore without access control attributes' is greyed out.
