Hi All,
Facing issues while backing up SQL database. The backup throughput has degraded drastically from 15 Mbps to 1 mbps.
Master/Media Server: Netbackup Enterprise Server - 7.1.0.2 (OS- Win 2008 R2 ,Enterprise Edition)
Client Server: Windows Cluster (both the nodes -OS- Win 2003 R2, 64 bit, SP2)
Server Copy for 3 Gb of data(flat file) completes in 7 mins, whereas as NT backup from client to target - share on Master is 18 mins and Basic Disk backup for the same is 17 mins.
If someone is aware / have come across the issue , please let us know how to resolve the issue.

Hi
There is an issue in 7.1.0.2 in relation to SQL Servers that do not have a "Default" instance.
Although the tech note says it only relates to the SQL GUI crashing it may have a connection.
I have not come across anything else that would do this and would need to look at the logs in more depth to see if anything was obvious. Thech note below - EEB available upon request or workaround to downgrade the client to 7.1.0.2

Workaround:
Remove the 7.1 version of NetBackup from the client and install version 7.0.1.

Downgraded the NB client version to 7.0.1 and tested the backups.. No good. Still the same.. Any other solutions???

Please see if Limit Bandwidth is enabled in Master Server Host properties.
If it is enabled for one subnet, ALL backups will be affected. Extract from 7.1 Release Notes:
■ Do not use a LIMIT_BANDWIDTH (IPv4) configuration or a THROTTLE_BANDWIDTH (IPv6) configuration in the initial release of
NetBackup 7.1. If you use either of these configuration options, you can encounter a sever performance degradation.
An EEB will be available to fix the issues.
