Shadow Copy Components with NB5.1

I have a number of servers that are running Windows 2003 SP1, the backups of the Shadow Copy Components (defined as System_State in the policy) hang and then eventually fail with a timeout error 41. The other drives being backed up on the servers work OK. Has anyone experienced this problem, and, does anyone have a resolution?

Check DNS resolution and check if the NIC cards on the offending servers are set to 100 full duplex or in some cases 1000 full duplex, ask the network dude or dudet to check the port configuration for the offending servers.

Try "Shadow Copy Components:\" as written in

The NetBackup Client name should not have more than 15 characters

if the NetBackup Client software is below 5.1MP2.

Verify that the you can backup the Shadow Copy Components

by using the Windows 2003 tool \Programs\Accessoires\System Tools\Backup

If so, there is most likely a NetBackup problem.
