Shrink MS-SQL logs after backup

Richard_Senda2

Hello,

I have some MS-SQL databases that are backed up using the MS-SQL agent.  Once the logs have been backed up and truncated, I would like to shrink the logs to remove the white space.  Is there any command I can use with NetBackup to do this, or does it require a bpend_notify.bat file with some SQL in it?

Thanks,

Richard.

which version of netbackup are u running? and I think the only thing you will get is the compress option even by software or drive, but shrink the logs is something that only belong to the DB engine.

I am running NetBackup 6.0 MP7.  I have checked with our DBA and yes, this is a function of the DB engine so will need either a maintenance plan in the DB engine or a post backup bpend_notify.bat script.
